Netball is unusually unforgiving about selection, because the positions are the sport. Each of the seven is restricted to its own thirds of the court, so a team without a Goal Shooter has nobody who can score and a team without a Goal Keeper has nobody who can stop it. You cannot cover a gap by asking someone to drift—the rules will not let them.
