Privacy Policy

When you choose Google sign-in, we request basic identity permissions (openid, email, and profile). Google provides your name, email address, verification status, and Google account identifier. Basic profile information can also include a profile picture; MatchBalancer does not save or display that picture.

We store your name, email address, and Google account identifier to create or recognise your account and sign you in. Your name and email are also used for service emails and product analytics as described below. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, or contacts, and we do not store Google access or refresh tokens for ongoing access to Google services.

We store information you or your group organisers provide: account details, language preferences, group memberships, player names, ratings, tags, team lineups, match results, and votes. Public polls use a browser identifier to remember votes. If you request a poll-result email, we store your email address and that subscription.

We also process session and technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, page views, interactions, referral information, errors, and subscription status.

We use this information to run accounts and groups, balance teams, record results, manage polls and subscriptions, send authentication and service emails, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and improve MatchBalancer. Optional reminders include an unsubscribe link.

Resend processes email addresses, names, language preferences, and related account information to deliver emails and manage contacts. Stripe processes payments and receives the account email and group details when you subscribe; MatchBalancer stores subscription identifiers and status, not your full payment-card details.

PostHog processes usage and diagnostic information to help us understand and improve the app. For signed-in users, analytics are linked to the account email and may include the name, language, registration source, and subscription information. Analytics can include session recordings when enabled.

Group members can see their group’s roster and match data. Anyone with a shared poll link or result card can see the player and match information it contains. Hosting and infrastructure providers process data to operate the service. We may disclose information where required by law or to address security and abuse. We do not sell personal data or use Google user data for advertising.

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language, secure sign-in, and recognise votes. PostHog uses cookies or browser storage for analytics. You can manage these in your browser; blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or voting from working.

Account, Google identity, and match data are stored in our application database. We use HTTPS and account and group access controls to protect data. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours.

We retain account and group information to provide the service, unless you request its deletion. Some records may need to be retained for billing, security, or legal obligations. Removing an account does not automatically remove shared group records; please identify any player or group data you also want removed.

Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, including Google account data stored by MatchBalancer. We may need to verify that the request is yours. Group organisers can also manage player records in the app.

You can revoke MatchBalancer’s Google connection in your Google Account settings. Revoking access does not delete data already stored by MatchBalancer; contact us to request deletion. You can unsubscribe from optional emails using their unsubscribe links.
